Title: Surveyor Senior

Location: USA-Texas-Port Arthur

Job Overview:

Provide support to new and existing work within the business line.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Plan and conduct ground survey designed to establish baselines, elevations and other geodelic measurements.

  • Determine coordinates and elevations using transits, levels and satellite-based global positioning systems (GPS).

  • Verify accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.

  • Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, and reports in order to describe and certify work performed.

  • Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and construction personnel, clients and other concerned parties.

  • Adjust surveying equipment in order to maintain their accuracy.

  • Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.

  • Performs other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically 1 or more years of surveying experience on civil construction or engineering work.

  • Ability to evaluate information to determine compliance with plans or specifications and ability to recognize and solve problems in the field or recognize potential problems.

  • Strong communication, writing, math and computer skills are essential.

Desired/Preferred Qualification:

  • Knowledge of computer aided drafting software and registered LSIT is preferred.

  • Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.

  • Make decisions based on measurable criteria.

  • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems

  • Plan work and select proper tools.

  • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.

  • Work at heights without fear.

  • Compare and see differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects.
