Title: Senior Training Specialist - Craft/NCCER

Location: USA-Texas-Houston

Job Overview:

Job performance requires foresight, political savvy and exceptional communications skills. You will work with a variety of parties (Company, NCCER, ABC, Technical Schools, and Government) to ensure that training that supports our projects and fabrication shops is adequate. Encourage instructors and staff to document achievements, promote publishing achievements within company internal news, and recommend opportunities for awards and recognition for the school, instructors, and McDermott management.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Manage Corporate NCCER Training Sponsorship for the Accredited Training Sponsorship and Accredited Training Center.

  • Support site training teams for NCCER training efforts.

  • Support audit of training activities on sites to ensure documentation and training are in compliance with NCCER policy and guidelines. This includes CB&I project training teams as well as external training organizations.

  • Support site training teams for the development of project specific training plans, facilities, materials.

  • Oversee and manage the delivery of CDP Management Essentials & Front Line Supervisory Training (Train the Trainers as required)

  • Develop appropriate program support documentation and reports to monitor program effectiveness.

  • Recruiting for veterans and qualifying family members at job fairs.

  • Participant interviewing, selecting, mentoring and guidance.

  • Facilitating the job placement for graduating participants.

  • Schedule SME visits and site field trips.

  • Conduct site, staffing office, and school visits.

  • Coordinate and participate and cohort graduations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Manage Construction Development Program Supervisory Training.

  • Manage Craft Training partnerships.

  • Training Oversight.

  • Program Guidance and support

  • Over 3 years’ experience working in a training supervisor role

  • Degree in Human Resources or similar

  • In depth knowledge of NCCER requirements and Craft Training.

  • Ability to work with little supervision.

  • Ability to work as a team member or as a team leader.

  • Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken.

  • Computer literate on Microsoft programs: Word, Access, Power Point, Excel, Project.
