Title: Senior Principal Subsea Engineer
The Subsea Project Engineering Manager, resides within the Subsea Engineering team, reporting functionally to the FEED Project Manager. The engineer’s primary role is to provide project engineering support as part of delivery of the FEED Engineering package. Significant involvement with engineering, procurement, manufacture, fabrication, transportation, installation and pre-commissioning.
Apply in-depth skills and broad knowledge of thebusiness to address complex problems and nonstandard situations.
Perform studies and research as may be requested fromtime to time by regional Chief Engineers.
Perform conceptual, FEED Studies, and detailed designand analyses.
Author and review design basis, project specifications,designs codes and standards.
Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculationsand analyses including design reports, procedures and specifications.
Act as Project and Company representative for variousprojects and assignments during meetings with Clients, Customers, internaland external Project Teams, and involved agencies such as certifyingauthorities, auditors, third parties, etc.
Initiate or participate in Company and Client DesignReviews, engineering and process reviews, Peer Reviews, Integrity RiskReviews, HAZIDs and HAZOPs, etc.
Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of DisciplineExecution and Management as necessary on various projects and assignmentsincluding scope, deliverables, schedule, manpower resources, etc.
Ensure interfaces and deliverables are clearlyidentified.
Manage own time to meet objectives and forecast andplan resource requirements.
Maintain responsibility for progress and productivity,identifying any required corrective actions.
Be fully familiar with the project scope of work,specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements; includingidentifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriateinitiatives to address the issues.
Interpret contractual requirements as they relate toengineering execution.
Identify changes to scope and promptly raise changenotifications, including providing any necessary supporting documentationand estimates.
Act as package engineer for procured items includingline pipe, coatings, subsea equipment, PLETs, valves, subsea connectors.
Interface with variousdisciplines and departments
A minimum of 10-15 total years of experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Preferably,Mechanical, Civil, or Ocean engineering
Exposure to offshore construction planning andinstallation operations is necessary.
Experience managing conceptual and FEED engineering forpipeline and subsea architecture work scopes
Familiar with and ability to manage flow assurance,corrosion assessment, and material selection studies
Experience managing detail engineering for pipeline andsubsea architecture work scopes
Experience with various aspects of pipelay includingS-lay, Reel-Lay, J-Lay operations; umbilical and/or flexible flowline andriser installations; jumper fabrication and installations; flying lead andcontrol systems installation; subsea manifold installations.
Experience with offshore survey and positioning; ROVoperations; post installation testing and commissioning; and reelingoperations are highly valued.
